…training with Jim Collins has been much more than just lifting weight. As a former competitive collegiate athlete, discipline, hard work, and persistence were necessary to be successful. Over a decade has passed and these fundamentals are still present within me, just re-directed to work and home life. At 34 years old and out of shape, I struggled to find activities that both kept me interested and were competitive. So, I stopped in at Gymbo’s simply because it was close to my house and I wanted to start lifting weights again. Within a short time, I started training with Jim. He provided me with the tools required to get the most out of my training and allow me to focus on healthier living. As time passed, I noticed a drastic change in my body. The combination of Jim’s training exercises and diet plan not only resulted in me feeling better about myself, but also re-ignited my competitive spark. At Gymbo’s, the opportunity to take my training to the next level was available and I was willing and able to follow in that direction. Staying focused on a goal is an intangible that Jim also helped me with; to not quit when you want to quit most, and the determination to do one more rep when it already burns. In conclusion, Jim and Gymbo’s Personal Training and Fitness Center provided me with the tools to compete in my first bodybuilding competition and place first in the Men’s Pure Novice and Men’s Lightweight Divisions.
