Insulin resistance, anxiety, sleepless nights, and waking up tired each day led me to Gymbos. I was 47, overweight and just going through the motions in life.
For years, I neglected my health. Sure I went to the doctor, I even saw a nutritionist. I was exhausted! The weight needed to come off, and I needed to reclaim my health. After reading others’ opinions, advice, and fitness successes, I felt completely overwhelmed and unsure of where to begin. I found coach Jim Collins online and reached out via Facebook messenger. This decision marked the beginning of my journey toward better health.
I knew I needed a coach but felt intimidated by the idea of going to a gym because of my weight. Jim invited me to come in for a consultation. He was incredibly supportive and eager to help me get my health back on track. I didn’t grow up in an environment where fitness was a priority—my family didn’t work out, I wasn’t an athlete in high school, and I had little to no experience with lifting weights. Jim is more than just a trainer—he is a coach. He has guided me with nutrition, created workouts tailored to my needs, and, most importantly, helped me change my mindset around fitness.
My doctor had never used the word "excellent" before when describing my health and was impressed by the amount of weight I had lost in just 13 months. All I know at this point is that I didn't come this far to only come this far. I’m excited to continue my personal training and set new goals with Jim in the new year.
